Program Overview

The Accelerated Supervision certificates are offered at two levels to provide a range of leadership development training.

Accelerated Supervision Level I
This comprehensive 40-hour course offers an overview of basic supervisory skills and is designed for:

  • Current supervisors with one to three years of experience
  • Newly promoted supervisors
  • Emerging managers
  • Supervisors aspiring to new leadership roles

Topics include:

  • Human resource basics for supervisors
  • Supervisory communication
  • Tools for team development
  • Coaching for performance
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Leadership, motivation and power
  • Managing change
  • Supervisory communication
  • Managing conflict

Accelerated Supervision Level II
This course covers advanced supervisory issues for deeper leadership training. Students consider difficult work challenges through in-depth discussion. Contemporary HR topics such as cultural competency, and creativity and innovation, are brought to the classroom to build your supervisory skill-set. Level II is designed for:

  • Current supervisors with at least three to seven years of experience
  • Students who have already completed Accelerated Supervision Level I

The Professional Development Center’s instructors are industry experts who share a passion for teaching and collaborative learning. Classes are designed to provide real-world and highly applicable instruction.
